Signed by Scott O'Dell on the front free endpaper and warmly inscribed to a former owner in the year of publication. Bound in publisher's beige cloth stamped in brown and turquoise. Near Fine with foxing to cloth and toning to pages, in a Very Good unclipped dust jacket with toning and heavy foxing, and light edge wear with small chips to corners and spine ends. The Newbery Award-winning novel, which was inspired by the true story of Juana Maria, a Native American woman who was left to live alone on San Nicolas Island during the 19th century.
Synopsis
Island of the Blue Dolphins is an American children's novel written by Scott O'Dell. The novel was published in 1960, winning the Newbery Medal in 1961, and the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 1963.
