A prior owner's name on the front fixed endpaper and foxing and toning throughout, but the text is clean; the gray cloth hardcover has a pair of pale spots at the lower front and foxing at all panels, as well as a small spot of fraying at the spine head, but is otherwise sturdy; the dust jacket is incomplete, with most of the spine panel absent and some water staining at right rear and left front, and all panels including interior flaps show noticeable age-toning, creasing, and edge tears, but is now covered with an archivally safe sleeve.

Aquarian Press, 1970, in soft wraps. Terrific lurid. A veritable time capsule which can serve as a bona fide research tool for those with an interest of the heady days of late 1960s London. No website to hide behind; here were REAL names of both adepts & quacks and where to find them! An interesting artifact- though don't expect to trace many of these street addresses now. Uncommon vintage paperback. Exceptional condition save for spotting on all edges. Very tight binding, extremely clean. Almost "As New". Inv. # 62542 bds 2023

Binding is square, tight and clean save for a stray mark on reverse. Red top stain. Internals clean except for faint marginal spotting/staining on pp.136-37. Old Weiser booklabel on front pastedown. Unclipped wrapper has minor wrinkling/ small creases (it is a very thin gold foil paper jacket) plus some edgewear; else Fine. Fifty-seven illustrations on b/w plates interspersed throughout text; again, as mentioned elsewhere on this space; images perhaps those not commonly seen re-printed ad nauseum.

binding is very clean- just a touch of edgewear/shelfwear. They used a two tone quarter green cloth over gray cloth and the green portion still is glossy. Internals very clean ( not even any pricing marks in pencil) though there is a paper clip indentation at the lower edge affecting the title, onwards for 20 pages. Unclipped wrapper has only some rubbing but I detect no tears, creases or chips. The paper is wonderful; it strikes me as feeling and looking like "linen" (not your business/office grade) but I am by no means an expert on paper. This US Stackpole Edition omits 8 plates which are in the UK Allen & Unwin volume. Well-preserved, excellent copy.
