Pascal Covici, Publisher. 1927. sm4to. 4 cm, first edition limited to two thousand copies, xiv,406p., title-page vignette, frontis, decorated headers & first initials, numerous illustrations including facsimile plates, notes, index, full dark blue cloth, elaborately full gilt decorated on all sides, gilt titles, wide inner dentelles, t.e.g., bookplates removed from front & rear paste-downs endpapers, spine slightly dulled, very good sound copy (bks). ~ Eminent American typeface and graphic designer, Douglas C. McMurtrie (1888-1944) traces the development of bookmaking from the beginning of written records down to the 1920's.
