About This Item

R. S. Surtees Society. Hardback. 315pp. Introduction by Molly Keane. Edith Oenone Somerville and her cousin Violet Florence Martin (Martin Ross) were Irish writers who wrote 14 books together, many humorous and many with a hunting theme. Their work captures the Irish vernacular and the social mores of the time. With 35 illustrations by E. Å’. Somerville. Yellow cloth with black titles in a decorative script to the upper board. Gilt titles to the spine. the black ink has caused a few light finger smudges to the cloth with is otherwise clean and neat. Occasional toning to spots to the pages. Binding is sound. Good+, sound copy . Hardback. 1984.
