Hardcover Presumed First Edition, DJ present, will be placed in protective mylar covering. DJ altered by prev. owner with top and bottom of front and back flaps clipped. Black cloth boards lightly soiled by possible mildew. Edges square, corners sharp. Gilt lettering on spine. Top-edge heavily foxed, fore-edge scattered foxing. FFEP and RFEP completely removed. Very minimal foxing, some ink stains and prev. owner annotations to pages. Very slight “old book smell”. Binding tight. A first edition with a clipped DJ that exists as an important reference text for naval scholars. History
