Illustrated with twenty-five tipped in colour plates. Collated complete. Originally written in the mid-seventeenth century, this work is a celebration of the art and spirit of fishing written in prose and verse, reflecting the author's connection to the River Dive in central England, Stafford, and parts of London. Written by Izaak Walton, an English writer best known for this work. Illustrated by James Thorpe, a British artist and illustrator. In the original full green cloth binding with gilt. Externally, smart with minor rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Light fading to the spine and ride marks to the rear board. Internally, firmly bond. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Age toning to the endpapers. Very Good
