Signed presentation copy from both of the illustrators. First edition. Signed presentation copy from both of the illustrators. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, sixty-five colour plates, and a folding map to the rear. Lacking plate number eleven. A detailed study of the River Clyde, with chapters on the source, the Lanark and the Falls, the Orchard Country, Castled Crags, Glasgow, the harbour, Lennox, Greenock, yachting, Loch Fyne, wider shores, and the Islands. Written by Neil Munro, a Scottish journalist, newspaper editor, author and literary critic. Illustrated by Mary Young Hunter, a New Zealand painter, and her husband, John Young Hunter, a Scottish artist and painter who studied at the Royal Academy Schools. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and wear resulting in minor fraying to the extremities. The odd small split in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd handling mark. Light age toning and scattered spotting to the endpapers. 3" and 2" closed tears to the folding map at the rear due to handling. Illustrators' ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good
