About This Item
Paris: Librairie Charpentier et Fasquelle, 1910. Leather. Very Good. 8" by 5.5". None. A smart copy of this verse farmyard play by Edmond Rostand, in the original French. French language. A verse play in four acts, following a group of farmyard animals. Themes include idealism and spiritual sincerity as opposed to artificiality in an attempt to satirize the modernist artistic doctrines. Written by Edmond Rostand, a French dramatist and poet associated with the neo-Romantic movement. Bound in quarter crushed morocco with patterned boards. Externally, sound with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with age toning to the endpapers. Very Good
