About This Item

Hart-Davis, MacGibbon, London, 1974. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 156pp. Brown boards lettered in gold at the spine. A reconstruction of the infamous 'Chalk Pit Murder' trial, which saw Australian politician Thomas Ley sentenced to death for orchestrating the torture and murder of barman John McMain Mudie (Ley's sentence was commuted after he was declared insane, and he died in Broadmoor Asylum for the Criminally Insane. He was said to be the wealthiest person ever imprisoned there)..
