A fragment from Novalis which was first published by the Schlegel brothers in 1798 in Athenaeum first volume, first part.
Finely printed in Koch Fette Deutsche Schrift on Deutschem japanpapier in blue and black in a total edition of 350 copies. This copy being 'Verlagsexamplar' (publishers copy) same as the 300 copies edition..Overall size c.10.1/4 x 7.3/8 inches. c.26 x 19 cm. pps. 40.
Although undated, as the 5th. publication of Phaiden Druck, it would appear to be around the first year of the founding of the Phaiden verlag in 1923. Base of spine a little rubbed o/w a near fine copy.
