Garden City: Doubleday & Company, 1972. 12th printing, 3rd Printing. Hardcover. Very good +. 4to., not paginated, illustrations by Eric Sloane. ABC Book of Early Americana is Signed by Eric Sloane on the first free endpaper.. - The Little Red School House has a nice drawing of a schoolhouse and is also signed by the author. -- The dust jacket of the ABC book is some faded on the front and spine and has a small closed tear near the bottom of the spine. Also has light wear to the outer extrenities of the jacket. The Little Red School House lacks its dust jacket. -- Both books are clean and sound inside and out. Overall condition of both books. "Born in New York City, Mr. Sloane studied at Yale and at the New York School of Fine and Applied Art. He is known for his fine landscape paintings. Mr. Sloane not only writes, paints, illustrates and is an authority on Americana, he is in addition, well versed in meteorology, and has written a number of books on the subject".-dust jacket.
