Also included is a genuine Leica IIIA rangefinder camera, made by Ernst Leitz of Wetzlar, Germany, in 1938. The serial number is 278201 and was one of 19,850 made that year. The model IIIA began to be produced in 1935 but was suspended during the War, then resumed until 1948. In design it was identical to the III which had introduced slower shutter speeds, lugs for carrying the camera, and an increased rangefinder magnification to 1.5x. The main addition to the IIIA was the shutter speed of 1/1000th. The lens on this camera, which is collapsible and has a bayonet mount, is the Summar 50 mm, 1:2. It was manufactured between 1933 and 1940, and it has the serial number of 422174. A lens cap is present. Jacobson imprint on card face and verso shows advertising text for her series Picturesque San Antonio. Overall very good condition with strong tones.
OCLC shows a listing for this photo but no libraries holding it. Yale has a set of Jacobson San Antonio photographs including one of the Alamo. Rare Book Hub shows no auction or catalog listings. The photograph shows Jacobson's address at 2 E. Houston St., San Antonio, Texas. She is listed at address in 1889-90 and 1891 San Antonio City directories. Jacobson's photograph offers more than just a view of the great shrine to the independence of Texas; it also reveals the looming presence of the "Alamo Building," a commercial establishment that catered to tourists. A French merchant, Honoré Grenet, bought the Long Barrack and courtyard in 1877 and covered it with a wooden structure as part of a museum and grocery store. Hugo and Schmeltzer Co. bought the store in 1884.

Simon Bamberger was a Utah entrepreneur who was the fourth Governor of the State of Utah and the first non-Mormon. He was involved in hotels, railroads and mining. In 1902 Bamberger acquired the gold mining properties in Delamar, Nevada. After sinking a new shaft completed in 1906, the mine closed in 1909. Meadville, PA: Keystone View Company. Good. Stereoview. Set of three stereoviews depicting different locations in Utah. All produced by the Keystone View Company, appearing to come from two different boxed sets. No date is printed. Two in color come from one set and the other in black and white is from a different set. All are mounted on grey boards with black lettering. All are in good condition with a large curve to the mounts and slight wear to edges. Images are crisp. The two color photos are titled "Lobby at Zion Lodge Center, Zion Nat. Park, Utah" (UP 29448) and "Cedar Breaks Pavilion, Cedar Breaks, Utah" (UP 29453). The image in black and white is titled "The Lodge at Bryce Canyon, Utah" (29044). .
