Attractive copy suitable for collector's library. Three volume set of the "New Popular Ed." Embossed green cloth spines. Nice size: 7.5 x 5 inches using less than 4 inches of shelf space. Not one of those monster sets. Interesting provenance. Each spine has a professional black cloth strip with gilt lettering "S. A. Court" laid over J. B. Lippincott. The inside front cover has "S. A. Court" inscribed in pencil on each volume along with the date of "9/5/1882." South Australia Court is most reasonable conclusion. Initials "B. B." stamped on edges and inside boards. No idea what "B. B." stands for. No other library markings or provenance evidence found. I have provided scans of the books you will receive.
