Pamphlet. 19p., stapled wraps, 8.5x11 inches, wraps lightly edgeworn and stained, small silverfish hole on front wrap, penciled corrections and marginalia, else good condition. First two essays are reprinted from Snowy Egret, Autumn 1966 and Alaska Review, Fall 1965, Vol. II No. 1, respectively. Only one copy found in OCLC as of 10/2021. Meader, along with his wife Elaine and their son Dion spent more than 15 years living in the remote wilderness in Alaska in order to get away from civilization. He was killed in 1977 when he walked into a plane's propellor. The family's experiences were documented in the film "Year of the Caribou" (rereleased as "The Alaska Wilderness Adventure" after Fred's death).
