About This Item
This leading proponent of Christian Universalism (which sought to reconcile all of humanity with God regardless of religion) was an influential member of the Universalist Church of America, author of a number of books on the topic, and founder/editor of "The Trumpet and Universalist" magazine. ANS, 1p, 7" X 5 3/4" (inlaid to 7¼" X 8½" sheet), Cambridge, MA, 31 January 1848. Addressed to Dr. Harris. Very good. Cordial note from this book borrower -- who returns his books! "I return by the messenger, three books, to wit, Woodhouse, Lowman & Newton," attractively penned in brown ink and boldly signed at the close.
