A sharp blow to the fore-edge with a blunt object (presumably) has left many leaves crinkled and even a bit torn in the outer margin. Still, a perfectly serviceable copy of a very hard-to-find reference.

First and only edition of this extremely rare account of Napoleon's will. 2, 37 pp. The author, son of a general executed in 1815, demands his rightful inheritance from Napoleon and attacks the Comte de Montholon and Général Bertrand. Lipsic (Leipzig) (but Paris): George Weitman, 1696. First edition of this political testament attributed the Charles V of Lorraine but actually written by Henri de Straatman. 12mo. An outstanding catalogue of livres de peintre, with a strong emphasis on the 1970s and 1980s. 100 items described, one to a page, each with a full-page facsimile plate (most in color). From a total edition of 1100 copies, this is one of only 200 numbered large-paper copies printed on fine Yearling wove paper. A presentation copy, with a warm signed autograph inscription from the compiler. Square 4to. Original illustrated wraps. FINE AND BRIGHT, with no defects.
