Peder Rhode (1734-1793) was a Danish pastor and historian. His "Samlinger til de danske Øers Laalands og Falsters Historie" (first published in two volumes 1776-94) contains interesting details on the customs, life-style, superstition and folklore of the Danish islands Lolland and Falster. The 1859 edition includes many changes, additions and corrections.

Several pages towards the end of the volume are numbered and signed twice (i.e. 543 544). A front blank fly-leaf contains a 5 x 32 mm hole and an inscription in a small early hand on the verso.
