Cover is impressively pressed and gilt with the design of an arched facade overlooking a garden. Beautiful cover for display. Original gilt spine intact, though showing evidence of separating, likely from improperly being removed from the book shelf. There are a few old insect holes along the spine crease, front and back as well as in the end papers crease, also front and back. Title page tissue overlay is torn at the bottom corner, but still intact. Binding is tight and secure, pages are bright and clean. Illustrations are crisp and not ghosting to the facing page.
