Description:
This is a copy of the Japanese monthly magazine SD Space Design, No. 235, April 1984, A Monthly Journal of Art and Architecture. Special section on "Gardens: Wonderland of Contrivance and Illusion," along with other features including a piece on the work of sculptor Richard Serra. All text in Japanese except for the text of the special section in a small English section at the front of the book.
Very good copy, binding firm, pages clean. Lightly soiled covers, chips missing at the top and bottom of the spine. Previous owner's signature and date on upper right front cover. 214 pages, color and B&W illustrations.

This lot comprises 37 back issues of Shots Magazine, a Fine Art Black & White Photography periodical. Issues span the years 1990-2001, and include issue nos. 23-47 (missing #35); 58-62; and 67-74. The issues span the editorship of founding publisher and editor Dan Price, Robert Owens, and Russell Joslin. Individual magazine quality is mostly G/VG. NOTE: Many of these issues were printed on newsprint or other non acid-free paper so there is yellowing and fragility commenserate with this type of paper. All copies were mailed via USPS and display mailing labels and miscellaneous folds/flaws associated with the U.S. Mail.

Description:
A comprehensive tribute to architect Stanford White, designer of the Washington Square Arch in New York, among other projects. White was a member of the famous McKim, Mead, and White Gilded Age architectural firm, designers of New York's original Penn Station and other famous commissions.
Hardbound with no dust jacket, 1920 First Edition, measuring 12.5 by 17.5 inches. 33 pages followed by 56 plates, including sketches, drawings and photographs of White's oeuvre. Boards have edge and corner rubbing, a stain on the upper right front, and a piece of the top edge of the spine is missing. Some inside pages are lightly soiled but most are clean, in VG shape.
