Description:
Octavo, 373 pp. plus 6pp publisher's catalogue. Straight-grained, red Morocco, ruled in gilt with gilt corner decorations. Slight wear to the corners, a few small marks, and some rubbing to the edges. Spine with a slight fade. Black label with title in gilt. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. No inscriptions. The front free endpaper is slightly loose, attached to the gutter by abraded paper. Description:
YOKO AT INDICA: UNFINISHED PAINTINGS AND OBJECTS BY YOKO ONO November 1966London, Indica Gallery, 1966. Stapled, thin card covers, 28 x 14 cm, 24 pp. with photo plates by Iain Macmillan. The photographs are printed on gummed paper and were intended to be taken out and pasted to their respective places on the catalogue's pages, but here, astonishingly, are as originally issued still on the summed sheets and uncut making this a true rarity as catalogues often appear incomplete or wit the images already pasted to the pages. The text pages are split horizontally; the top half being where the photos were supposed to be gummed down, and the bottom half carrying the catalogue notes by Yoko Ono. Yoko Ono first met John Lennon at this exhibition. During the installation of the show he mistakenly ate an apple that had been one of the exhibits (titled '04 Apple' in the catalogue).Very minor areas of abrasion where the gummed pages have over the years lightly adhered to their neighbours but without doing very… Read More
