The dust jacket has a few chips, mostly at the top and base of the spine. This is a VERY GOOD book with a GOOD++ jacket.

Green cloth, gilt lettering on spine. Top and base of spine and the corners fraying. SEE PHOTOS Clean unmarked, slightly yellowing pages. Illustrated including frontispiece with protective paper.

Philadelphia: Sower, Potts & Co., 1858. Hardcover. Fine. 5 x 7 1/2. This book was protected by a hand made dust jacket made from a piece of paper that has been used as a handwriting exercise, so it is written on with repeated sentences on both side. Also a nice hand made book mark paper. Boards are brown heavily embossed cloth with a black leather spine that has gilt lettering. The second free page has an ink signature with "Book Jan 12th 1859" (this leached through to leave a faint mark on the title page). All pages are very lightly age toned. SEE PHOTOS

Dr. Miles . Soft cover. Near Fine. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Combines facts about radio stars with advertisements for Alka Seltzer, Dr. Miles Nervine, Aspir-mint and Dr. Miles Anti Pain Pills, etc. The only flaw is a very small stain to the page top outer edges. It lists the products that sponsor the radio celebrities. VERY CLEAN and almost as new!

Home & Garden Bulletin , 1984. Soft cover. Good. 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. 32 pages; bulletin number 241. Unmarked. Pages are bright white and clean. Blue paper wraps are still bright blue, and have minimal age wear.

The only flaw with this book is a short (1/2 inch) rub to the cloth on the top back board and a slight dulling of the gilt on the spine. The dust jacket has some paper loss on the top edges. Sixth Impression.

New York: Dodd Mead & Company. Hardcover. Good. 6 1/2 x 8 1/4. Paper boards with a pastedown image on the cover. The text words are hyphenated when the word has more than one syllable (their din-ner was read-y). Probably from the late 1800's. Boards are chipped, mostly on the edges. Internally there is some foxing and dirty marks. Pencil owner name on front pastedown.

New York: Ivison, Phinney & Co., 1864. Hardcover. Very Good. 5 1/4 x 8. 408 pages. Copyright 1863. This book is dated 1864 on the title page although the owners inscription on the last free page is "John L. Horn - Hackettstown - Warren Co. - New Jersey - March 11th 1863". Otherwise unmarked. Page edges marbled. The first few pages have a tide mark. The ffep is missing about one square inch of paper on the lower edge. The front pastedown is missing some paper, maybe 2 square inches. The pages are very bright. The spine is black leather, embossed and has very bright gilt lettering; missing some material from the rear hinge. The boards are cloth, embossed and rubbed on some edges.

"#150 Santa Clause Series" on the cover. the boards are illustrated, some rubbing and a loss of some of the spine. The nest to last page is missing some paper, maybe 12% resulting in a slight loss of text. The boards have some soiling. GOOD MINUS.

New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1953. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 5 3/4 x 8 1/2. International intrigue dominates this clean unmarked copy that wears a great dust jacket that only shows a 1 inch tear at the top of the back and minor minimal chips. The pages show a light uniform tanning.
