Lewes: W. E. Baxter, "Sussex Agricultral Express", High Street , 1870. This is an uncommon, 14.75 inch oblong folio, in the original blue pebbled cloth, gilt-lettered boards. This is a facsimile of a document, originally on vellum, which came to light via the hands of Mr. Wynne E. Baxter, a solicitor from Lewes. Only 159 copies were apparently made, and a list of subscribers is present on p. 7 of the introduction. There are topographical notes within that introduction, and then the text of the reproduced document is in Elizabethan script, with 5 fold-out coastal views, in 16th century style and hand-colored (relatively decorative, given the limited amount of detail, as this was a coastal survey). The introudction indicates that this was "A Survey Made by Sr Thomas Palmere, Knight, and Mr. Waltar Couerte, Esquire, Deputie Lieutennts of her Maties Countie of Sussex, of all the places of descente alongste the sea coaste of the said Shire."
