The remaining pages are full-page illustrations of different 19th century ships. Significant physical and historical details are provided in lower margins. Listed illustrations include wash drawings, pen and ink, and oil painting.

Published in Richmond in 1932 by Garrett and Massie in blue cloth with gilt spine lettering. 509 pages with frontis, 142 black and white plates, a biographical list of artists, and index. No dust jacket. It contains the history of Ohio art and artists from the mound builders to 1930. Painting, sculpture, wood carving, photography, needlework, weaving, pottery, jewelry, furniture, metal work etc. There are NO cracks, tears or handwriting. There is light tanning to the blank pastedowns and endpages.

He built and lived in a cabin on Gunnison Island in the Great Salt Lake for nine months. A lone inhabitant on the island from November 1895 until March when the first group of international guano sifters arrived. Describes plants, animal life, geology, interesting characters and more.
