This copy of Mailer's acclaimed first novel has a 3 by 5 card laid-in with an inscription: "To Orville W. Jafke with my best wishes," signed by Mailer.

One of the few nonfiction titles that McMillan has published over the years.

This copy of his second book has been signed by O'Brien on the title page.

The book is loosely based on the 1957-58 killing spree of Charlie Starkweather and Caril Ann Fugate, who murdered 11 people in Nebraska and Wyoming. Very scarce in UK edition.
