A beautiful catalog reproducing frames from early French films, from 1895-1910, accompanied by short essays. One of the eccentric and beautiful catalogues associated with the French bookselling concern Librairie Plantureaux, similar in format to the later Carnets de Rhinoceros Jr series. Fine.

Iowa City, IA: Stone Wall Press, 1969. First edition. 8vo, 55 pp, letter press printed and bound in brown boards with printed spine label. No dust jacket as issued. One of 260 copies. Johnson's first book, published many years in advance for the novels which would make him one of the most important writers of the last quarter of the 20th century. A slight touch of fading to the extremities of the boards, a bit of dustiness to the cloth and spine label, and a tiny bump to head of front panel, but near fine.

Sedona, AZ: Licher Art & Design, 2005. First edition. Sheet of nine stamps, offset printed on gummed stock and perforated paper, and housed, along with a detachable postcard, in a letterpress-printed folder in two colors on manila tag board stock. Fine.

San Francisco: Zephyrus Image, nd. First edition. 9 1/4 x 14" broadside, linocut no newsprint. An early broadside from the press, dating from the Collins Street days, and with the newsprint paper utilized, and early spelling of the press name as "Zephyrous", similar in feel to the companion pieces Help Your Local Junkie Kick and Liberate Berkeley. Johnston's description of the broadside is worth quoting in full. "Another early untitled image by Myers with his characteristic bilateral symmetry and organic shapes combined with mechanized ones.Gatling guns (?), skinny Indian opium smokers rising out of a lotus, surmounted by a nude woman." - Johnston p. 186. This is the first state of the poster, not to be confused with the later second state of the broadside entitled International Harvester, which used the same block but added other elements and used the later spelling of the press name. This copy with a handwritten colophon by Robert Duncan, denoting this as copy no. 3 of only 4 issued "Hors de Commerce for Gerrit Lansing, 'the hosts of the glittering day return'. Robert Duncan." The second edition, following the first edition of 1950 - this edition adds an afterword by Robert Bertholf. Bertholf A3 state e, the second of the two hors commerce series - with blue string instead of red, and no bloodstain. Near fine with some minor crimping abd fadubg to yapped wraps, which have a short nick at head of rear wrap.

A printed menu for the Bohemian cafe in Mexico City, illustrated with a drawing by Arbio, and including a quote from Martin Fierro. Two additional fold lines, and some light rubbing and creasing to the paper, very good.

Bennett, Chester Baker, Lillian Necanov, RDHanson, Randall Brock, Guy R. Beining, and David UU. OCLC locates only 2 holdings. Fine.

Document of submissions to the mail art project, including work by Christo (a color postcard of Surrounded Islands stapled to one page), Guy Bleus, Bern Porter, Furry Couch, and many others. OCLC locates only two holdings. Good only with some dampstaining to wraps.

Baltimore: The Hopkins Science Fiction Association, 1975. 4to, 11 pp, photo-mechanically reproduced on rectos only. Side-stapled. A collection of songs published on the occasion of Balticon 9, with a nicely designed, minimalist cover. An early publication from HopSFA, which was charted the year prior, and which grew out of the Amber Society, which included Roger Zelazny. Includes a superb computer poem about an IBM 360/85 by Robert Osband. OCLC locates no holdings. Very good with some light toning and foxing.

Mansfield, MO: Zion's Order of the Sons of Levi, 1966. Foolscap, [24] pp. including covers, mimeographed from typescript and photographs and side-stapled into an offset printed, phtoographically illustrated poster. Issue of July August 1966. The newsletter of the religious intentional community, a sect of the Latter Day Saint movement founded in Marl Kilgore in 1951 after leaving the Aaronic Order. The community moved to Missouri in 1953. The community still survives, though in 1975 the name was changed to Zion's Order. The newsletter includes text by Kilgore, photographs of activities, logging, choir, agriculture and construction, etc. Of particular interest is an account by Kilgore of travels to several other communities, including Hutterite and Mennonite settlements, poetry by Kilgore, a cooking column, etc. Rare. The community was never large in number, and today numbers about 30 people, so the newsletter was likely produced in small numbers. OCLC locates holdings at only one institution… Read More

Fama & ortune was an artists' periodical / artists' book series published in Wien by Peter Pakesch and Johannes Von Schlebrügge. Each issue invites an artist or artists to create and design the issue, in this case Haim Steinbach. Fine.

Pittsburgh: Mother Press, 1960. First edition. Foolscap format, two sheets mimeographed on both recto and verso, unbound and folded as issued. A single issue of this early little magazine of the Mimeograph Revolution, which began in the late 50's and, like Floating Bear, was distributed free, or as the editor eloquently puts it - "Mother is not for sale: she can be had for love." This issue includes work by Aram Saroyan (his poem Walking Home), as well as Rick Klein, R. Morgan Morrison, Robert F. Grady, and Bob Alderisio. Toning, heavier to outer sheet. Very good.

Rappottenstein: Nova Press, Matsoukas-Real-Life-Company, Pot & The Austria Connection, 1973. 11 3/4 x 15 1/2" broadside periodical, offset printed in blue on both recto and verso. Illustrated with photographs and drawings. Single issue of this periodical co-edited by Jörg Fauser, associate of William Burroughs, who also edited Gasolin 23. The "Moving Times" of the title must certainly be a reference to the Burroughs project. This issue covers the Vienna FEstival, and also advertises Gasolin 23 on verso, along with ads for the cassettes "Road to Morocco" and "The Austria Connection." Scarce. This is the only example we've seen, and OCLC locates no holdings. Folded twice, with some coffee staining. Good only.

My Own Mag, 1964. Paperback. foolscap format, five leaves of various colors of paper stock mimeographed from drawing and typescript. Side-stapled. Unnumbered, but the tenth issue of the little magazine. With contributions from Dave Cunliffe, Joanna, Bob Knapp, Bill Butler, and Tom McGrath. A very good example with three old fold lines, and some minor soiling and toning to outer leaves.

Barnet: My Own Mag, 1965. First edition. 8 1/2 x 14", eight leaves, mimeographed on both recto and verso [with the exception of the narrow cover sheet, which is mimeographed on recto only, and of the appropriated leaf]. With cut out panels and folded to several pages, as issued. One of the most beautiful of all the My Own Mag issues, literatally a "cut up", and including a letter from William S. Burroughs, as well as his "Moving Times". Also, contributions this issue from Michael McClure and Anselm Hollo. This is a sharp, fine copy, including the scarce and important cover sheet which is turned to reveal the depth of the cut ups within. A couple of light creases, and some minor rusting to staples, else fine, and scarce thus - a fragile issue given the page alterations.

Cleveland: Renegade Press, 1964. First edition. 8vo, letterpress printed in on various colors of paper stock, and side-stapled into letterpress printed white card wraps. Illustrated with prints by Katherine Wasil, Cuz, and Kent Taylor. With a foldout sheet bound in, spirit-duplicated from typescript, giving thanks and noting Asphodel Bookshop and other little mags. One of a limited edition of 150 copies. A beautifully printed and innovatively designed issue of the periodical, with contributions by R. Blossom, Tuli Kupferberg, Doug Blazek, John Cornillon, Szabo, Kent Taylor,& Steve Richmond. Faint reading crease to cover and some faint handling creases, slight touch of dustiness to wraps else fine, and scarce in this condition - a fragile issue.
