Produced to commemorate that year's very real wedding of the very real Murphy and Sam. The first miniature book of the press. Bound in pebbled black cloth over boards with red plastic wrap over spine, the material somewhat warped. Near fine. (2 1/8 by 2 3/4; 54x71mm).

Troy, NY: Merriam & Moore, 1850. 24mo. 24pp. Tales of moral rectitude are here illustrated with engravings of "Application" and "Idleness," as well as other stock images, including a final composition of three monkeys having perhaps little to do with "Hay Making." Bound in tan printed wrappers. Dampstaining to latter quarter of pages, faint foxing, else very good. Previous owner's inscription to title page.

London: Religious Tract Society, 1867. 32mo. 93pp. Chromolithograph frontispiece, engraved tail-pieces. A collection of three moral tales, here in longform and suitable for a more advanced young reader. Bound in purple wrappers, with upper cover design heightened in gilt. General minor rubbing to edges, faint foxing to peripheral pages, else near fine.

Boston: Carter, Hendee and Co, 1834. (32)pp. A pocket-sized almanac with great aphoristic value; maxims accompany the tabulations of the months, there is a note providing "Knowledge of Law for Families," on the legal relation between a husband and wife, and the final leaves relay some sayings from Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanack. The keen observer will notice the similarity between the title page of this volume and that of Franklin's actual publication from the previous century. Also with currency matrices, dates of court sessions for various New England locations, and an odd two-line addition providing Napoleon's birth and death dates. Somewhat rubbed and sunned in marbled paper wrappers, very good.

San Francisco: Grabhorn Press, 1941. Angelo, Valenti. Folio. (10)ff. From an edition of 75 copies printed for David Magee at the Grabhorn Press, this is copy number nineteen of 27 deluxe copies signed by Magee, with a stunning vellum leaf from a sixteenth-century Italian Gradual bound in. The leaf, which has been trimmed, shows an intricate initial nearly six inches high, decorated in blue, pink, green, and gilt illumination with a rose design. The text of the book contains fourteen large initials, including a four-inch opening letter, all hand-written and illuminated by Valenti Angelo. Generally externally rubbed about two-tone cloth covers over boards, else very good. (BCC 43; Chalmers 90, Magee 363).

Providence, RI: Geo. P. Daniels, 1843. 24mo. 24pp. Engraving at frontispiece, title page, and as head- and tail-pieces throughout. The book opens with a vivid image of a walk in New York City, in the Battery, with an instructional comparision of the populations of New York and the "whole state of Rhode-Island." Bound in plain printed wrappers. Light foxing, else near fine. Previous owner's inscription at upper cover.

Frontispiece portrait of Mother Bickerdyke, Civil War nurse and advocate for veterans; additional reproduced engravings throughout. Printed in an assortment of display type and Bookman linotype, in order to "present the true story of a heroic woman in an appropriate context." Bound in full blue cloth over boards, spine titled in gilt. Fine. (2 7/8 by 2 1/4; 75x61mm).

New Haven: S. Babcock, 1840. 48mo. 16pp. Seven full page engravings, as splendid as the title page states, of exotic animals like the leopard and the elephant. Text block loose but attached to plain printed wrappers, very good.
