Large folio, loose as issued in a natural canvas chemise and black slipcase. An excellent copy.||One of the masterpieces of the Circle Press with fine letter press printing and remarkable prints representing characters in the play which look as fresh and modern as the day they were printed. Paper size 34.5 x 36.5 cm. Printed on Zerkall mould-made paper.||One of the remarkable wood prints from Gaylord Schanilec’s great book ‘Sylvae’, winner of the 2007 Gregynog Fine Press Prize. The book documents the journey of Ben Verhoeven and Gaylord Schanilec into the woods of Farm 590 that surround Midnight Paper Sales in western Wisconsin, to create a work not only about these trees, but of these trees. In all 24 species have been catalogued through image, historical anecdotes, and notes taken during the cutting, milling, engraving and printing. The book’s 53 images consist primarily of wood prints of long grain and end grain specimens which have been taken from Schanilec’s property. Folio, loose with a 4pp. folio title page and colophon with an epigram ‘Marie’ dated 1727, housed in the original cloth backed paper covered boards portfolio with printed paper label on upper cover. A very good set.||A remarkable set of very accomplished and beautiful drypoints of a single nude model by Frank Martin, one time Professor of Engraving and Etching at Camberwell Art School. He is very well known for his engravings, book illustrations and for his prolific life drawings all done in Chelsea between the 1950s to 1970s.|

A little browning to pastedowns, dust jacket with a few small tears but generally very good, unopened copies. ||Chamfort was an extraordinary man who was secretary to Louis XVI’s sister, a member of the Jacobins and when the French Revolution went sour spoke out which led to his arrest and he died of the effects of his desperate attempts at suicide.
