Green suede-backed marbled boards. 8 5/8" x 5 1/2. Frenchman Albert Benard de Russailh arrived in San Francisco by the ship Joseph from LeHavre in March,1851. He died in San Francisco in July,1852 at the age of 33. He left a Journal of his travels, filling 211 notebook pages. The last 50 pages of his Journal, dealing with his time in San Francisco, are presented here. GB 150. Well worth reading for a picture of San Francisco during the Gold Rush.
