The covers are rubbed, stain at the bottom of the rear cover, the text is complete, toning and some marking to the pages, the Indice alfabetico Arabo-Italiano (about 70 pages) at the rear is browned (printed on cheaper paper), hinges good- overpulled a bit internally. Fairly tidy volume, no annotations etc internally.

Contains 32 sheets of plates + 30 woodcut illustrations at the start of chapters. Nice looking red leather binding with red marbled covers. Chipping to the leather at the base of the spine and at the base of both covers, rubbing and a bit of fading on the spine. The hinges are in good order. The text and plates are complete, browning to the tissue guards in vol 1- the plates are a bit toned because of it, brighter plates in the 2nd volume, light foxing in places, toning to the pages, previous owners signature at the top margin of the 1st title page.

No inscriptions etc. (retains the dust jacket's spine and front but not the rear). 252 pages.
