KNIGHT'S GAMBIT, SIGNED, RANDOM HOUSE, 1949 WITH ORIGINAL DJ.
FIRST EDITION, WITHOUT STATEMENT OF PRINTING ON COPYRIGHT PAGE. (This Faulkner title, as well as "Requiem for a Nun' dors not state 'First Edition' - a rarity for Random House.
The red boards and titles are fresh and bright on the cover and spine. Spine, corners, and board edges are clean with almost no wear or bumping. Internally book is clean, square, and tight, as is the binding. Top edge black-stained.
The dustjacket, in Brodart, is fresh and bright, with thinning and weakness at the front spine and fold-over, chips and wear at spine, and small tears and folds along front top edge. DJ edges show almost no wear. Price of $2.75 on top front DJ foldover (and also discrete Marshall Field pricetag on inside rear dj cover).
This is a remarkeably clean and sharp SIGNED copy of this classic.
