Langford of the FBI. Book is bound in grey and black cloth and boards and is in near fine condition with near fine dust jacket with mild edge rubs. Interestingly, John Logue wrote of this book, “Jack’s Law or ‘show me the money.’ Judge Jack Montgomery was a drunk, a buffoon, a liar, a clown, a showman, a bully, a fake, a sexist, five-times married, and a crook. This classic Czechoslovakia printed pop up book copyright 1977 by Arita (Prague), is in good condition with some weakening to spine. The pop-ups are colorful, classic and charming. The last pop-up page is weak on right side where right side of pop up got bent the wrong way.

Original bookshop sticker on front of book is from Gilbert & Field Booksellers, London (for those of you who collect these). Previous owner's name written inside front cover. This copy of this scarce first edition work has the original covers. There is some age darkening to endpapers, binding is tight and sound. It has the rare pictorial color pictures on front and rear cover by Caldecott. Please see scans. Front cover has 1884 date, as does title page. Above the title on front is printed, ""One Shilling."" by publisher. This has these first edition first state points...frontispiece ill. listed as p.38, last word p.27 is 'why'.
