IN THE SCARCE DUST JACKET. 8vo, 189 pp, VG+ in gilt-stamped black cloth in dust jacket (dj is edgeworn, especially at the head & heel of spine, with a large chip and 2-1/2" tear on the front panel; else solid & intact). Semi-autobiographical, but containing other stories, as well. A fairly enigmatic title; originally published by Michael Joseph in 1939, though neither edition is common nor widely held. This copy came from a group of Kersh books that purportedly came from his personal library: there is an ink inscription on the ffep stating "File Copy/Please do not remove/Drawer "D" III (b)". An uncommon Kersh title, especially in a dust jacket, and one of his best books. .
