Lightly browned and foxed, lightly creased from old folds, minor chipping to edges, especially bottom edge, but without any loss to images or text. The printer was almost certainly F.[rederick] Thorowgood, printing from 42 Wood Street, Cheapside, London (fl. 1810-1834, see BBTI). Rangeley, Doxson and Co. were based in Stone, Staffordshire, and their partnership was dissolved in 1821 (Grace's Guide). Not in COPAC. According to the manufacturers "the advantage of this pump consists in its convenience and simplicity ... being wrought by a rotary, instead of a reciprocating motion, (as in the common pump) whereby it is constantly at work, raising water with a continual stream, and not subject to loss of power and waste of water ... which renders it pre-eminently adapted to the draining of mines". Lightly creased generally, crease to bottom third with small tear to right hand margin, very light foxing mainly to borders, small scuff to top right hand corner, but generally quite bright and clean. "The top half of the poster has a photographic image or movie still showing a large room full of costumed figures lying on the floor. The background of the bottom half of the poster is a pink and black topographical map. The printer was T.[homas] O.[xley] Brumby, of 1 Butcher Street, Lincoln (fl. 1841-1861), he was also a bookseller, stationer and bookbinder according to the BBTI. Appears to be an argument for the baptism of (clothed) infants, with a sprinkling of water rather than full immersion. First Edition. Unbound. Good. Folio. Broadside.

Slightly chipped to head of spine, rubbed to extremities, especially outer joints, four small dark patches to upper cover, corners bumped and rubbed, some light browning to pages, especially to edges of endpapers, otherwise fairly clean. Buckingham: Seeley Double sided printed card, approximately 75mm x 115mm in size, n.d. c1803? Lightly browned, heavier to reverse, slightly soiled to head of reverse. Possibly late eighteenth century [John] Seeley was printing in Buckingham from 1795-1830 and the Bucks Yeoman Cavalry was formed in 1794, there were three yeomanry regiments by 1803, but more likely to be very early nineteenth century when the Napoleonic invasion scare was at its height. Baltimore, MD: Liberation House Single sided screen printed poster on thick paper, approximately 545mm x 705mm in size, n.d. c.1969 Small pin holes to corners, covered with tape to reverse, water staining to top quarter with associated crinkling and some colour run to head, especially visible to reverse but not too obtrusive to front. "Poster has an image of an African American woman in a dress and overcoat with a scarf on her head and a handbag on her arm. The woman is leaning with both hands on a rifle held in front of her. The left side of the poster has the text: "international / women's / day / march 8". The bottom edge has the text: "RYM, Box 5241 "E" Atlanta, Ga. 30307". The client for the poster was Revolutionary Youth Movement (RYM). Baltimore's Liberation House Press was created by civil rights activist Walter Hall Lively (1942-1976) and subsidized by the Cummins Engine Foundation.
