Description:
London: Heinemann, 1949. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Illustrations by Ruth Steed from sketches by the Author. Edges lightly spotted otherwise a lovely VG+ copy (with the red top stain bright and fresh and no fading whatsoever to the spine) in like D/W with just a touch of fraying at the head of the spine and miniscule rubbing to the extremities. The book is VERY SCARCE in collectable condition (as this is). One of the most enjoyable 20th century romances set in a Stuart house which has been grafted onto the ruins of an old castle. Memorably filmed in 2003, directed by Tim Fywell and starring Romola Garai, Bill Nighy and Rose Byrne. First book and one of the most famous childrens novels of the last century

Description:
London: Macmillan, 1978. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. SIGNED & INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. Behind the scenes of the Nixon Interviews. Publisher's black boards with gilt lettering to the spine. The book itself is Fine without any faults (not even minor bumping). The D/W is VG with some edge wear, age tone and creasing however with no fading whatsoever to the fugitive red spine lettering. Laid inside is a book review cut out from the Yorkshire Evening Post (YEP) dated 17/04/78 which concludes that the author will be giving a talk at the YEP literary luncheon on 27/04/78. Presumably, this is where the book was signed. The book is inscribed by the Author in green felt tip to the front free end-paper: "To Charles/ David Frost". The recipient "Charles" is C.C, Tapp who I believe worked at the YEP. This book was part of his library. Exceedingly uncommon, signed. Photographs/scans available upon request.

Description:
London: MacGibbon & Kee, 1954. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. Publisher's red boards with gilt lettering to the spine. SIGNED & INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TOGETHER WITH A CARTOON. The Memoirs of an Old Etonian Trumpeter. A VG+ copy (just a little dustiness to the top edge and a few spots); tipped-in errata slip still present in a VG+ unclipped D/W (lightly age-toned, light soiling to lower panel and a small, closed hole halfway down the rear hinge where it's taken a knock at some point). 1st edition from 1954 that even unsigned seems to be hard to find in collectable condition. There is an undated, but probably contemporary inscription to the FFEP from the author, jazz trumpeter and band leader Humphrey 'Humph' Lyttelton, who also hosted Radio 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue for 35 years. Nice but what makes this copy stand out is the addition, at a later date and dedicated, I presume, to subsequent owners of the… Read More
