Quarter dark brown cloth with dramatic cork sides, unpaginated. One of an edition limited to 60 copies signed by Nicholas Parry, who illustrated with wood engravings, and by Mary Parry, who set this book in 14pt. Caslon. "The Gospel According to Saint Mark" was translated into the Midland dialect of English in 1380 by John Purvey. The intention was to present The Gospel in its most vigorous and powerful English form. Fine condition.
