Paris: Editions de Minuit, 1957. First edition of one of the greatest plays of the Twentieth Century, arguably the equal of Waiting for Godot, or perhaps even its superior. One of 56 numbered copies of the first edition on Velin Pur Fil du Marais (there were also 10 on Velin d'Arches). Fine copy. Large paper copies of Endgame are seldom seen on the market. In spite of the fact that it was issued in a large-paper edition of 35 copies, unsigned, Waiting for Godot seems to present itself more often than Fin de partie, the most recent copy of Godot reaching a price of $40,000.. 8vo, original printed wrappers. Limited to 150 numbered copies printed, torn, cut, and bound by Claire Van Vliet at the Janus Press on and out of Kozu, Fabriano and Canson paper; not issued signed. Presentation copy, and copy number 3, inscribed by Schuyler to his friend Jane Freilicher and her husband Joe Hazan soon after receiving the author's copies of the book: "Jane [Freilicher] & Joe [Hazan] from Jimmy 12/17/75".
