A Fable is a 1954 novel written by the American author William Faulkner. He spent more than a decade and tremendous effort on it, and aspired for it to be "the best work of my life and maybe of my time". It won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. Newspaper section 8A pamphlet in the form of a "Make-It Yourself Book" supplement, 16-page booklet folded from 2 newsprint sheets (quarto), 10.5 x 7.3 in. In Very Good condition, light page toning, clean pages (uncut and without creases), light creasing at corner tip, some separation along perforations where internal folds meet, color drawings are bright. Presented in mylar sleeve with cardboard backing to ensure it arrives undamaged. Written and illustrated by Armorel Kay Walling. Section 8A was a Sunday supplement appealing to children's creativity in addition to telling charming stories. "The Indian smiled...She said. You're the Handsomest Raindrop I've Seen...And the Fattest Raindrop was so pleased - he blushed."

Condition is Near Fine in Good. Book has one board corner lightly bumped. text and music are clean with hint of tanning on some edge. Jacket (in protective mylar) is lacking in places, particularly at bottom edge and spine. A very tasteful 1920s production.

Walter Rollin Brooks (January 9, 1886 – August 17, 1958) was an American writer best remembered for his short stories on Mister Ed the talking horse and children's books, particularly those about Freddy the Pig and other anthropomorphic animal inhabitants of the "Bean farm" in upstate New York.
