The watercolors were drawn in 1985-6 and all show coastal scenes in western Washington state. Each watercolor measures 3 x 5 inches on 8 x 10 laid paper, with each scene signed and described by David Hagenbaumer. On the reverse of most of the watercolors, Mr. Hagenbaumer and his wife have written long, personal inscriptions to Bob Wethern. For many years Bob Wethern and David Hagenbaumer worked on a multi-volume book tentatively titled The Waterfowler's Pacific Flyway. Also included with the watercolors are photos of the two men together, greeting cards, commissioned wine labels, etc. The material is kept in an album. A rare offering of material featuring the artistic talents of Mr. Da ... Read more

New York. Simon & Schuster. 1992. 8vo. (7 ½ x 5 ½). 226 pp. including colophon. Limited Edition. One of about 100 copies published. This copy is unnumbered. Signed by John Gierach on the limitation page. Illustrated by Glenn Wolff. Illustrated frontispiece. Text drawings. The nature of a brook trout is one of gullibility; generally these fish will eat nearly any fly tossed at them, except the big ones, who often become cautious with age. Mr. Gierach weaves his narrative into the broad spectrum of why we fly fish and not as much about how to do it. He is an excellent writer on the outdoor sport of fly fishing. This copy without the colored print but it has the envelope which contained it. The book is bound in quarter blue Nigerian Goat and custom designed blue and brown paste paper and the binding was arranged by The Anglers Art Press of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Blue cloth slip case with a titling label on the spine panel. A nice book. Fine in a fine slip case. . Signed by Author.
