Its pages feature 16 different architectural periods and styles from 1485 to 1990, beginning with Tudor and Jacobean architecture, and ending with Post-Modern. The sections provide descriptions of the styles, as well as illustrations and photographs, documenting thirteen major features: doors, windows, walls, ceilings, floors, fireplaces, kitchen stoves, staircases, built-in furniture, services, lighting, metalwork, and woodwork. With approximately 3000 analytical drawings and historic engravings, 350 color photographs, and 1000 black-and-white photographs, the book is both encyclopedic and also beautiful to flip through. An informative and thorough guide to architectural periods.

We have always loved the illustrations of Russian-born French artist Erté. The 20 postcards are all iconic Erté images, so nicely done on glossy cardstock. The pocket notebook has foil covers with this striking image on front and back. The pocket book measures 4 1/2" by 6 1/4" and has a tight magnetic closure. What a delightful set of small surprises!
