Boards are solid with small damp stain at the top of the front cover, and the spine has a slight lean, minor scuffing and heavy sunning. Binding is intact but the hinges are starting to crack from the front free endpaper through the contents page. There is a closed tear midway up introduction page xli as well as open tears on introduction pages xlv and xlvii. Some additional light staining is present throughout the text, but the pages are crisp and unmarked aside from that. Charming copy despite flaws.
