First edition, 1 of 2500 copies printed, of this monograph issued originally in conjunction with the launching in 2005 of his exhibition in Portland featuring his installations of intimate and dreamlike snapshot style images, offering vignettes of nudes, and natural history emulating the passage of time and evoking vintage photographs.

Blue-gray embossed limp covers, embossed raised gilt & black lettering on front cover (minor soiling, slight lean), still VG exemplar. First edition of this lavish 1920s Atkins’ saw catalogue promoting the company saws for sawmills, logging operations, loggers, and carpenters in the 1920s. This very successful company was originally founded in 1855, and became well known for their circular sawblades, and bandsaw blades, circular saw equipment, metal sawblades, as well as their patented crosscut saws.

Salem, OR: Oregon Statesman, 1898. Elephant folio. [4 pp.]. Nicely engraved vignette of American Eagle clutching arrows & flag on front page, couple text illusts., illust. ads (vry slght creasng, some edgewear), an excellent copy. First edition, thus, of this very scarce Extra, which was published in addition to the July 4th daily edition of the Oregon Statesmen announcing the destruction of the Spanish fleet in Santiago Bay. The editor notes how arrangements were made with Western Union and the Associated Press in order to generate this special edition for 4th of July celebrations, and all citizens were encouraged to bring flags and bunting to celebrate the victories of Admiral Sampson, and General Shafter near Sevilla, Cuba. Shafter would later accept the surrender of Santiago de Cuba and 24,000 Spanish troops on July 17, 1898.

First edition of this anthology of memoirs by the Oregon Pioneer, who relates his early experiences in Oregon, beginning with his sailing to Oregon in 1850 to Umpqua City, in order to facilitate a better opening to the gold mines of northern California.

Red publisher’s cloth, borders embossed in blind, gilt lettering front cover & spine (minor wear to lower fore-edge, very minor wear & slight bumping to corners, occasional interior light toning), still VG- copy, w/ former ownership markings dated July, 1917 on front pastedown. First edition of this excellent memoir by the author detailing his explorations into the Yukon-Alaska Territories transported by canoes, talking with miners, and whose reports were some of the first to report the vast mineral wealth in the territories. Ogilvie (1849-1912), marked the Canada-Alaska boundary, mapped the city of Dawson, and was present when the gold strike on Rabbit Creek in 1896 launched the Klondike Gold Rush. Green printed softcovers (rippling to textblock & covers), signed by Hawley on verso of front cover, and ownership markings as well dated 1977. Facsimile edition of this exceedingly scarce gold mining and land promotion piece issued in 1898 against the backdrop of the gold strikes and mines of Baker City, Granite, Grants Pass, and Sumpter, Oregon. The 1898 original illustrated and detailed the mines and mine owners of the Columbia Mine, Bonanza Mine, California Mine of Sumpter, as well as the tremendous growth in lumber mills, logging, and agricultural commercial opportunities in Eastern Oregon at the end of the 19th century. Hawley (1902-1991) was an active geologist, mining engineer, and historian of the Eastern Oregon gold rush who wrote the Account of Gold Dredging in the Sumpter Valley in Eastern Oregon.
