Much better than usually seen. One of the most important mimeo magazines of the 1960s, and a crucial link between the first and second generations of the New York School poets. Richard Hell called C "the greatest literary magazine of the twentieth century... you could extrapolate everything worthwhile in the universe from its thirteen issues, and you'd have a great time, giggling." Originally a vehicle for the Tulsa core of Berrigan, Ron Padgett, Dick Gallup and Joe Brainard, this issue includes contributions by Stephane Mallarme, Pierre Reverdy, William Saroyan, Harry Mathews, Kenward Elmslie and others. One of 391 numbered copies printed, signed by Cummings on the title-page in watercolor. Some rubbing at spine extremities and hinges, as always seen with this fragile production. Endpapers darkened at gutters, contemporary gift inscription on front pastedown. A luxe edition of Cummings' visual artwork in Charcoal, Ink, Oil, Pencil and Watercolor, with a foreword by him. Printed in New York by the Stratford Press. Typography by S.A. Jacobs. Reproductions by the Meriden Gravure Company. Firmage A10.

Some rubbing and smudging to uncoated jacket, book about fine. Wood engravings by Frank Utpatel, printed from the original blocks. Signed by Derleth and Utpatel on the front free endpaper. An attractively produced book, a late collection of love poems by the bard of Sauk City.

Of a total edition of 600 copies, this is one of 30 copies printed on Arches text and hand bound by Judi Conant (the remainder of the edition was bound in wrappers and printed on Mohawk Superfine). Printed by the Stinehour Press. Foreword by David Pankow. Letterheadings in German with English translation; printed in red and black. Fine copy.

Second edition, stated, of one of García Lorca's early books of lyrics (first published in 1927). 150 pp. Original printed wrappers. Yapped edges quite worn, exterior paper cover of spine worn with some loss. Binding fully intact, text clean with occasional pencilled star next to some titles. An acceptable copy of a fragile book, quite uncommon.

London: Elkin Mathews, 1913. First collected edition. 52, 64, [4] pp. Brown paper boards lettered in gold on the front cover and spine. Gallup notes that "not more than 500 copies issued." The book consists of first edition sheets of the two earlier books with a new half-title and title-leaf for the volume. Rebacked with original spine laid down, nick to top edge of rear board skillfully and professionally repaired. A scarce early Pound volume. Gallup A7b.

North Vancouver: Capilano College, 1979. Original Wraps. Near Fine. First appearance of Ondaatje's "Running in the Family," a 40 page excerpt with some differences from the published version which came out three years later. Illustrated with black-and-white and color photographs. This issue also contains Daphne Marlatt's "In the Month of Hungry Ghosts." A near fine copy with some slight offsetting to the wraps.

Old tape marks to upper corners, not visible under mat. An extremely early work by the master printmaker and founder of Janus Press; she graduated from San Diego State University (then State College) in 1952.
