A story set in Roman Britain in the late second century AD, mostly around Hadrian's Wall. The author was a Sir Philip Howard Pilditch, Conservative MP for Spelthorne, Middlesex between 1918 and 1931. Some wear to spine ends corners and bottom edge of boards, binding split at the "About this book" page, ink stamp on title page and others with ships names (Borjistan, Columbia Star, Ellora, Port Quebec) on last page. Deals with the wreck of the French steamship "Ville du Havre" which sank on 22nd November 1873 in mid-Atlantic after colliding with the "Loch Earn" which was also badly damaged.
