This is a lovely copy of the second work in the alphabet series.

SIGNED, without inscription, by both George Franklin and William Moyers on the verso of the front endpaper. The volume is bumped at the spine ends and corners, and rubbed near the spine crown (lightly affecting the turquoise band). A small booksellers label is affixed near the bottom of the second leaf, and the first and last signatures (sections) are starting to pull away and extend about a 1/16" beyond the fore-edges. The unclipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, has abrasions on the spine, is edge rubbed with chips on the spine ends and corners, and has corner creases on the rear flap and top edge of the rear panel.

Charles H. Doran, 1923-01-01. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. n.d. (c. 1920s) Illustrated with photographs and sketch maps. The volume is bumped at the spine ends and has lightly toned pages. The dust jacket, sleeved in mylar has light perimeter toning, a darkened spine, corner and spine chips with "Doran" almost totally obliterated at the spine tail, and an "L" shaped chip at the crown affecting the words "Back" and "To".

Limited Editions Club, 1939. Hardcover. Very Good. Signed. Llimited to 1500 copies, this is # 598, SIGNED on the limitation page by the illustrator, John Farleigh. Light greenish cloth with a gilt stamped green leather label on the front panel and gilt stamped burgundy leather spine label; housed in publisher's slipcase. The volume has a mildly toned spine and there is some light soiling to the facing panels. The slipcse (VG) is sunned on the edge panels, the facing panels have perimeter toning, and one has a small water spot. There are a few abrasions to the opening edges. This is an oversized volume. Priority and international mailings will require additional postage.

The volume is edge rubbed, stained along the front joint and page edges, and has light to moderate foxing on the first and last 5 leaves. The unclipped is sunned on the spine, has light areas of soiling, and is edge rubbed with wrinkling, chips (mostly on the spine ends), and a couple of closed tears.

The L. Graham Co., Ltd., New Orleans, 1914. Hardcover. Good. The volume is bumped on the bottom corners and spine ends. There is occasional soiling and the gilt spine lettering is a bit faded. The text is over opened between the endpapers and adjoining sheets, exposing the webbing, and the leaves are gently toned.

The volume is bumped at the spine ends and corners and has light soiling on the front board. The unclipped dust jacket is chipped at the spine ends (1/4" on the top front fold, 1/4"x1/2" at the spine base, with smaller areas of loss), corners, edges, and has splits on the front flap fold. There is a supplied book club dust jacket which is only marginally better. The original jacket is sleeved in mylar.

McClelland & Stewart, 1923. First Edition. Very Good-/Good+. Signed. First Canadian edition. The poem, "Tides of Fundy" has been printed on the endpapers and pastedowns. SIGNED, without inscription, by Bliss Carman on the front endpaper. The volume is bumped at the spine ends and is a bit thread bare on the spine crown. The dust jacket, sleeved in mylart, is edge worn, chipped at the spine ends and corners (to a depth of 1/2" at the top front spine joint and bottom front corner), and has an inverted "V" shape closed tear near the middle of the spine. Tears and chips have been reinforced with tape on the verso.

The volume is bumped and sunned on the spine ends, and there is a bump on the top of the front panel causing a series of three short creases underneath it. The interior is in excellent condition and contains the bookplate of bibliophile Melba Berry Bennett on the front pastedown. The unclipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is chipped at the spine ends (to a depth of 1/4" on the top rear joint), sunned onthe spine with some splash marks on the lower portion, and has a 3/8" x 5/8" chip on the top of the front panel.

Cream vellum type boards with 4 raised bands; gilt stamped fleur-de-lys on front panel. Blue tie, and ribbon marker. The covers are lightly soiled. The slipcase is soiled, abraded, and starting to split along the seams.

The volume is bumped at the spine ends an corners, has a lightly toned spine, and the gilt stamped spine lettering has diminished intensity. The text is lightly toned and there are occasional areas of soiling.
