The cover seems offset about 1/16" from the pages, and the backstrip is a bit lumpy with a slight crease, which all implies the cover has been re-glued, perhaps by the previous owner whose name appears on the half-title page. NY: John Wiley & Sons, Inc.. 1914. 2023pp. The title page says "First Edition, Five Thousand". Ex-library, with a discard stamp on the back of the title page. The covers are delicate and flaking, the front cover is held on by bookbinding hinge tape, the backstrip is deteriorating (see pictures), and there is a round inch-wide stain on the back along with a few smaller stain droplets on the front cover. This is a comprehensive reference book with loads of historical information, but it's not so great to look at. (51245) . Fair. Hardcover.

Leipzig: Deutsche Verlagsactiengesellschaft. 1904. 530, 480, 449pp. "Yearbooks for Folkloric Surveys and Research on the History of the Development of Gender Morality", according to internet translation. These are the first three volumes, one issued each year from 1904 - 1906. Each was evidently limited to 1000 copies. Vols. 1 & 2 have matching numbers (784), but Vol. 3 is #478. These are large quarto size, with untrimmed fore and bottom edges. The backstrip of Volume 2 has a 1/2" tear at the bottom and a 1.5" tear at the top of the front hinge. Laid in are several advertising brochures apparently for the author's other works. As these books are large and heavy, extra shipping charges will be requested ($15 for standard U.S. shipping; $30 for U.S. Priority Mail; probably much more for international). 3 vol. (50693) .
