Travel memoir by an American journalist about the city of Paris, France in the late 19th century, a period of prosperity and optimism pre-WWI. Discoloration to spine and around fore edges of covers with corners and spine ends mildly bumped/frayed. Front hinge cracked with several instances of mildly split binding throughout. Previous owner's name on front endpaper, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. Smells faintly of smoke.

Harcourt, Brace & World, Inc, 1966. Hardcover. Very good/Good. Book of the Month Club edition. Previous owner's embossment on title page. All other pages are unmarked. Binding is firm and square. Jacket has heavy rubbing and edge wear with multiple small tears and chips. Front jacket has come wrinkling likely due to humidity or prior water damage. The boards and pages were not affected. Light staining on fore-edge.

With photographs and scans on letters, cartoons, and documents. Complete War Years section of a larger set that also included two volumes of Prairie Years. Very mild scuffing to covers with shelf wear around the edges. Corners and spine ends softened and bumped. Text blocks sagging slightly with wear to bottom fore corner from rubbing. Binding remains strong on the whole. All pages clean and unmarked though tanned. Smells very faintly of smoke.

Dell Publishing, 1974. Paperback. Good/N/A. All pages are unmarked and bindings are tight. Spines have reading creases. Slipcase has moderate wear, bumped corners and rubbing to art.

Joseph Manahan (Printer), 1822. Hardcover. Acceptable/None. Second edition. Edited and with commentary by J. L. Blake. Warped boards with chipping and bumps around the edges. Front hinge cracked. Many page edges creased or torn. Pages heavily foxed with sparse marks in pencil throughout.

Boards are curved and with discoloration and moderate shelf wear around the edges. Corners bumped and spine ends softened and fraying. Both hinges cracked with discolored strip down both pastedown endpapers. Spine is curved and cocked somewhat. Pages are tanned and with mild foxing around the edges of some, but remain otherwise unmarked.

Boards are solid, the spine is square, and the pages are bright, crisp, and unmarked with textured endpapers. Front hinge starting to crack. Overall in excellent condition.

Binding has a lean. Boards have foxing along fore-edges and along spine. One bottom corner is bumped and there's light rubbing on corners and on spine ends, which have softened. Spine is sunned.

Two stains on front board and some discoloration on both boards. Rubbing around all edges and cardboard is visible on corners and top and bottom edges of front board. Spine ends starting to fray. Sun lines across both back and front boards. Paste down on spine is sunned and has chips at edges.

Binding is starting between pages 6/7 and at inner front cover so glue is visible, but is otherwise secure.
