Loosely contained in publisher's cardboard box with oval engraved label "Neue mit Maschine geschnittene Zerleg-Bilder America" pasted onto top lid. (422 x 352 mm). Sides rubbed, with a few tears, and on left and right side small parts lacking. A fine example of a dissected map, complete and with only a few brown spots, by one of its leading manufacturers in German speaking countries.

The Abbé Delaplace, a keen student of deaf education and almoner at the Institute of St. Médard in Soissons, produced this attractive illustrated alphabet for the instruction of deaf-mute students with mouth and tongue positions with phonetic descriptions together with detailed illustrations of the vocal organs and lungs. A very nice copy.
