He produced copies in enamels, several of which were exhibited at the Royal Academy (1833 - 1840). Battam was later employed as a painter at the Copeland porcelain factory, and was the founder, and president, of the Crystal Palace Art Union.

Undated. 1 page 7½ x 6½ inches, scrawled, laid down on part of an old album leaf. Sir William Blizard (1744-1835), surgeon. As a young man Blizard involved himself in radical politics and became a supporter of John Wilkes. He founded the Samaritan Society in 1791, he knew Jonas Hanway, having worked with him in the Marine Society, and had interests in prison reform, and in ensuring the respectful treatment of dead bodies. Among Blizard's writings were Suggestions for the Improvement of Hospitals and other Charitable Institutions (1796) and papers in the London Medical Journal, between 1789 and 1790.

Description:
12A Henrietta Street. 31 October 1872. 2 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, in good condition, integral blank leaf (trace of mounting). William Theed (1804-1891), sculptor, the son of the sculptor and painter William Theed the elder (1764–1817). He specialised in portraiture, and his services were extensively used by the Royal Family. In 1851 he displayed three pieces at the Great Exhibition, the most notable a marble of The Prodigal's Return, a life-size piece, elaborately carved. From London he made further pieces for the Prince Consort, including a series of mythological reliefs for the reception rooms of Buckingham Palace. “The Queen will not be displeased in any way at the simple mention of the completion of the bust of her late sister, and that it had met with H.M.’s approval.”
