Book is internally very clean with no markings, inscriptions, foxing or spotting. Title page in black and sepia. Several woodcuts in sepia by illustrator Stuart Boyle. Top edge gilt with other edges untrimmed.
Olive green cloth boards. Gilt lettering on spine. Spine a little faded and with a little fading to top portion of rear board. Else fine.

Binding tight. Boards mostly clean except for small stain on spine and a little staining on rear panel. Leaves in very good condition. Only marking is previous sale price in pencil on first blank. Some age related spotting to edges of text block.
DJ is not price clipped with a little chipping at extremities but not significant. Stain on spine. Rear panel stained. In protective removeable sleeve .
Overall VG in Good DJ.
Interesting addition to shelves of collectors of Golden Age Crime fiction.

First Edition of the Australian writer's murder mystery set in a business girl's hostel. It is the writer's fourth murder mystery novel.
Book is very good. Clean cloth bound boards. Internally clean. No markings or inscriptions. Leaves lightly age toned. Very slight forward lean.
DJ is not price clipped. Light wear at extremities with small piece missing at top of front panel (see images). DJ is somewhat dust dulled. Now in a protective removable sleeve.
