This is a later printing of the 1945 first edition, with illustrations by Garth Williams. The book itself is very good, with no marks, no tears except for front endpaper corner, which is missing 1-inch of corner and has owner's small name stamp. Back endpapers are fine. Copyright page has K-B print code.
Dust jacket is poor, with tears and owner's name stamp on front flap; also discoloration on front flap and top 1/2 inch is missing (including price) but "Harper & Brothers, Publishers" is at bottom. Jacket spine is torn and missing pieces. Back jacket cover is intact but has thin red smear. Back flap is good.

It was printed precisely according to her own arrangement without any ... exercise of literary executorship. The printing of the title page is two color, with delicate oval engraving in brown. Last page has publisher's print information as well. A class act.
